Stoke make first bid

Stoke have tabled a £4million bid for Liverpool midfielder Charlie Adam.

Adam has struggled to make an impact at Anfield since joining from Blackpool last summer and looks unlikely to be part of manager Brendan Rodgers' first-team plans this season.
The 26-year-old, who cost the Reds a reported £6.75m to bring to Merseyside a year ago, has repeatedly said he is happy at the club and wants to stay.
However, his stance could change in light of Stoke's £4m offer, with Tony Pulis looking to bolster his midfield options at the Britannia Stadium.
Everton and Fulham are also thought to be keen on the Scotland international but the Potters could beat them to the punch. But Liverpool might want more as many clubs want him. But he could also go to Fulham to replace Dembele but for the Dempsey deal is now back on.
