Andre Villas-Boas is closing in on dream signing Porto midfielder Joao Moutinho for a club record £22million, and has agreed a deal with Lyon for goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.
Tottenham will pick up £10.3m from Hamburg as they decided to sell playmaker Rafael van der Vaart on Friday morning and Moutinho is being targeted to fill the gap.
Moutinho operated under Villas-Boas while the manager was at Porto and it is not expected that his personal terms will cause any problems.
Porto had previously demanded £30m for the creative midfielder but according to Goal.com the clubs have settled on this smaller fee.
Spurs have been working frantically on deadline day to the do the deal and the signs are positive.
Villas-Boas has hoped to get Moutinho all summer long and, alongside Mousa Dembele and Gylfi Sigurdsson, will be part of a new look midfield.
Lyon's Lloris meanwhile is another long-term target and the clubs finally reached an accord after Tottenham agreed to restructure the deal and pay more up front.
